About
DnD Name Forge is a one-person project. It exists because most name generators hand you ten names and a reroll button, or a pile of syllables that do not sound like they come from the same people.
The tool on the front page generates character names for tabletop games: thirty-six cultures, five style registers, ten to two hundred names per run, grouped and numbered so a whole NPC roster can go into session notes in one paste.
What it does
- Names are built from syllable inventories written per culture, then shaped by the style you pick.
- Every name is a given name plus a clan name, so it reads like a person rather than a placeholder.
- The whole generator runs in your browser. There is no account, no saved history, and no server call.
What it does not do
- It does not look up meanings. The names are constructed sounds, not dictionary words, and the page says so.
- It does not claim to be official, licensed, or endorsed by anyone. It is an independent tool for players.
- It does not store your rosters. If you want to keep one, copy it or bookmark the address — the seed is in the URL.
Who runs it
An independent developer who runs tabletop games and got tired of scrolling. The site is published under the DnD Name Forge name; there is no company behind it and no team to contact.
